NAF offers steering axles and planetary steering axles for heavy-duty and commercial vehicles for use in agriculture, construction and forestry. With steering axles, the wheels can be moved specifically to enable cornering. On steering axles, the axle beam and steering knuckle are connected via steering pins with thrust bearings. In heavy commercial vehicles, trailing axles are used as non-driven axles to optimise load distribution.
For special installation space requirements, NAF has developed steering drive axles with integrated spur gears. Due to the higher range of gear ratios, a hydraulic or electric motor can also be flanged on directly.
NAF offers steering axles and planetary steering axles for harvesters that can be adjusted in width on the axle beam. The track width is adjusted via a telescoping mechanism in the axle beam. This allows different tyre sizes and widths to be used on the vehicle. This makes the machine more universally applicable and allows it to carry more traction and load even on soft soils, such as in the rice harvest. At NAF, these width-adjustable axles have the brand name “FlexTrac Axle®”.
NAF axles can be driven via a drive shaft, as well as via a directly mounted hydro motor or electric motor.
Thanks to a long-standing spare parts supply, NAF customers can obtain spare parts such as cylinders, thrust washers or bearings from NAF to keep the axles in their tractor units in good condition for a long time.
